Updating old storage: Freeman Library Digital Media Lab
This lab offers you the ability to digitize your slides and negatives, vinyl records, VHS and cassette tapes, 8mm and Super 8 films. A short orientation course is required before reservation can be made with any equipment in the Digital Media Lab. They also have a floppy reader and CD ROM drives to be used with computers onsite so those files can be moved to a USB device. Library is located at 16616 Diana Lane, Houston, Texas 77062 (Clear Lake City), 832-927-5420.

Historic New Orleans Collection
The Historic New Orleans Collection has launched a new version of its online catalog. The new site makes the institution’ s entire cataloged collection of books, manuscripts, maps, photos, art, and ephemera accessible to the public for the first time. The online catalog presents three ways to search: by keyword, advanced search, and collections themes. Researchers will also have access to more than 17,000 images, view-able in a gallery where they can be enlarged or compared side-by-side.
